Giving Back in 2017 ~ Helping to Fulfill Dreams One City At A Time
It’s Thanksgiving week…a time for us to reflect on everything and everyone that we are thankful for. ShuEsq is reaching its two-year anniversary and we are thankful to still be around steadily growing and promoting our indie designer platform as well as encouraging you to #DreamMoreOneThanOneDream.
Especially, when statistics say that most businesses fail before the two-year mark.
But, outside of being thankful for still being here to offer you what we know are the hautest curated women shoes on the market, we are thankful that though small, we have still been able to give back to others. Because you do not necessarily have to be in the grandest position to give back!
ShuEsq in Atlanta
In this past year, we have had the grand opportunity to donate shoes to the Covenant House of Georgia. The Covenant House partners with homeless liaisons in the Metro Atlanta Schools to receive referrals for youth who are homeless or have run away from home. Our shoes were specifically donated to youth for the Covenant House’s GLAM DAY/Saving Our Daughters Prom event held in July 2017.
The ShuEsq connection to Atlanta? Co-CEO Ashley O, Esq. lived in Atlanta while attending undergrad at Spelman College.
ShuEsq in Washington, D.C.
In October, Ashley O., Esq. also had the opportunity to speak on a panel about entrepreneurship as a part of a Young Women’s Retreat hosted by HD Woodson High School held in Washington, D.C.
At the conclusion of this event, a raffle was held where two students were each rewarded with a $50.00 gift card! The event ended with the students pushing Ashley O. to do a walk off in her own ShuEsq shoes! Giving back always includes some kind of fun!
Back Home in Dallas!
But, ShuEsq did not forget about our home, Dallas, Texas. We also donated shoes to the GateHouse in November 2017 in honor of Domestic Violence Month. Our shoes will be available at the GateHouse’s Keeps Boutique, which provides new clothing to women and children in crisis who are discovering new paths for permanent change, whether that be personally, academically, and/or professionally.
ABOUT US…
It is ShuEsq’s belief that the shoe retail industry lacked a platform that focused on new, upcoming, and independent shoe designers whose shoes may not be carried in retail chains or who are looking to expand their brand. Thus, ShuEsq, The Shoe Bar was created to provide a platform with these shoe designers in mind. Additionally, ShuEsq’s founders, millennial attorneys and shoe boutique owners, are dedicated to showing women that you can “dream more than one dream!”
