This Mother, Wife, and Marketing Director is Dreaming More Than One Dream and You Can Too!
Now, I know some of you may be thinking, “dreaming more than one dream” sounds cute, but unfortunately, that motto does not fit my lifestyle because my duties as a wife and mother come first. Besides, I just simply do not have the time to “dream more than one dream.” Well, today’s blog post is just for you!
Meet wife, mother, and Marketing Director of Penny Luck, Meagan Munoz. Penny Luck is a luxury line of shoes for men based in Texas, which was created for “like-minded American Dream Chasers." They incorporated the American staple of luck-the penny, so you can always wear your luck.” And let us not forget to mention that the mastermind behind this men’s luxury shoe line is Meagan’s husband, Mr. Brian Munoz. Meagan defines “dreaming more than one dream” as someone who can have more than one significant goal or aspiration in life. She notes that it is important to “dream more than one dream” because knowing that you are not limited or confined to one role creates an opportunity for personal growth, and allows one to reach their full potential. Meagan describes her path to dreaming more than one dream as chaotic bliss, but she would not want to have it any other way. Meagan has a real passion for the multiple roles she plays in life because she always knew she wanted to be a wife and a mother
Meagan credits her husband for giving her the courage to dream more than one dream. She admits that if her husband had not taken the risk to start Penny Luck, she would have not considered adding a start-up business to their life. Although she was very scared and hesitant to start this business after her husband quit his job when their son was three months old, she knew that it was meant to be seeing that her husband was an entrepreneur at heart. She says, “I felt that if we were going to make this work, he would need all the support he could get.” In the beginning she started helping with the little things, and over time, she became heavily involved and passionate about Penny Luck.
“Our brand is something I am very proud of because we have created it together. All the challenges that come with being a wife, a mother, and an entrepreneur just makes me stronger”
The irony in helping others pursue their dreams is that it can be a blessing in disguise as it may lead us to where we were meant to be and allows us to birth dreams we never knew existed. Meagan’s husband’s dream led her to birth a dream she would not have not otherwise pursued if her husband did not follow his, which reminds us that sometimes our dreams are not always just about us or even just for us. What dreams are you not pursuing that could lead to someone else’s dream coming into fruition?
Being a wife and a mother laid the foundation to help Meagan transition into entrepreneurship. “As a wife and a mother, you have to be strong, patient, supportive, and nurturing. When we started this business, I applied those characteristics in a different aspect.”
Meagan’s biggest obstacle is time management, which is an obstacle she is still striving to overcome. Meagan admits it is difficult to balance her work and home life. Although she feels like there are not enough hours in a day, she recognizes that she is constantly making progress, and that is what matters most. “I try to find peace in the chaos. I stay as organized as possible, make room for quality time with my son and husband. I try not to stress about the little things. If I can’t make a gourmet meal every night or the bed isn’t made, I won’t beat myself up about it.”
Meagan challenges us to not let fear get in our way of what we are passionate about because it is imperative for us to conquer that fear and go after what fulfills us. Despite the fact it might be tough, nothing worthwhile comes easy.
On a final note, Megan leaves us with a quote that has always stuck with her. “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.”
